The 2nd Youth in Film Awards ceremony (now known as the Young Artist Awards), presented by the Youth in Film Association, honored outstanding youth performers in the fields of film, television and music for the 1979-1980 season, and took place on October 18, 1980 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, California.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=2nd Youth In Film Awards )

Although the Youth in Film Awards were conceived as a way to primarily recognize youth performers under the age of 21, the eldest winner in a competitive category at the 2nd annual ceremony was Quinn Cummings who was 23 years old on the night she won as "Best Young Actress in a Television Series" for her role as Annie Cooper in the ABC television drama, ''Family''.〔
